Here are our little chicks!!!!!
Well, the chicks have started to arrive.....we have 4 at the moment ( February 14th)...and theres still lots of eggs to hatch....8 more!!
Our first chick to arrive is Nemo....( he is called that because when he hatched his Dad didnt know what he was and attacked him...so he has one short wing and one normal one). You can see him on the right in the front with the bit of a stump.
Then a week later Barry arrived then the next day 2 more arrived but we havent thought of names for them yet!

The Eggs are now here and all we have to do is wait to see how many chicks will be born! ......15th January 2012
About 10 days after all the eggs have arrived you need to 'torch' the eggs to see if any of them are viable or fertile.
'Torching' means to shine a small torch against the side of the egg and see what colour is inside.
Another way to say it is 'candling'.....i think torching sounds way better!!!
If its just a pale colour....its not going to develop into a chick but if you can see tiny red veins inside...it means you will probably have a chick!!!
We are crossing all our fingers that there will be at least one viable egg!!!!
